One Hen is a program of Boston Scores that empowers students to become social entrepreneurs who make a difference for themselves and the world around them. In the One Hen program, we empower youth to become change agents: building small businesses and giving back proceeds to help a social cause. We apply a gender lens, working with girls teams separately from boys teams to build both leadership and business math skills.
This spring we celebrated 10 years of empowering youth to become agents of change through financial literacy and civic engagement. We celebrated with the most incredible group of individuals, community partners, and supporters!
We were moved by Amma Sefa Dedeh-Lartey, One Hen’s founding Executive Director, who reminded us of the power of coming together as a community. Our student teams wowed all in attendance with their creative products and with their passion for giving back to their community. It was an inspiring evening and we are so glad so many of you could join us! Thank you to all of our generous donors who supported the event and helped us to raise a total of $100,000 for our programs!
