Kojo, from the One Hen story, is a child who is determined to make life better for himself, his family and his community. Ask your students to use the library or Internet to research other children who have made a big difference.
Once the students have completed their research, discuss as a class what causes they would like to support and what kind of contribution they would like to make, individually or together, to make the world a better place.

Ryan decided when he was six years old that he wanted to raise money to help build a well in Africa. Ryan is now in his 20s, and the Ryan’s Well Foundation has grown into a family of people committed to delivering access to safe water, as an essential way to improve the lives of people in the developing world.
